A speeding OSRTC bus overturned in the middle of the night and hit two parked pick-up vans. The accident happened last night in front of Boudh Fishery Office, slightly injuring around 40 passengers.
The bus, carrying 40 passengers from Bhubaneswar to Bhavanipatna, overturned while crossing National Highway 57 at Boudh Khurda Balangi. It then went off the road and struck two pick-up vans. Luckily, no one was inside the vans, though the collision damaged two lanes.
The injured passengers received treatment at Boudh General Hospital and left for their destinations after first aid.
The driver fled the scene after the accident. Police hadn’t arrived by the time this report was filed.
