The CBI has revealed important findings in the case of a trainee doctor’s murder at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Initial reports suggested possible prostitution, but the CBI investigation has ruled this out.
The investigation identified Sanjay Roy as the main suspect. Forensic and DNA evidence confirmed his involvement, showing that Roy committed the crime.
This case gained national attention when the semi-decomposed body of the trainee doctor, Jaktar, was found in the seminar hall on August 9. The post-mortem confirmed she was murdered after an assault.
Public outrage followed, with thousands, including doctors, protesting. Within 12 hours, police arrested Sanjay Roy, connecting him to the crime through a Bluetooth headset found at the scene.
Earlier reports hinted at multiple attackers and possible gang rape. However, the CBI has dismissed these claims, stating it was not a gang rape. The investigation continues to determine if others were involved.
