The CBI is actively investigating the assault and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata. Concurrently, West Bengal Police are conducting their own inquiries and have summoned two senior doctors from the hospital and former BJP MP Locket Chatterjee for questioning.
The police have filed two separate cases against Dr. Subaran Goswami and Dr. Kunal Sarkar for allegedly spreading misinformation about the victim’s post-mortem report and disclosing her identity. Dr. Subaran Goswami has stated that he has not yet received a notice but will cooperate if contacted. Dr. Kunal Sarkar confirmed receiving a notice this morning and plans to appear at the police headquarters tomorrow.
Former BJP MP Locket Chatterjee has also been summoned for questioning. Police sources indicate that he publicly disclosed the victim’s identity and shared inaccurate information about the case. He has been asked to report by 3 p.m. today.

The incident, which occurred on August 9, involved the assault of a female doctor in the seminar hall of RG Kar Hospital. The victim, a graduate resident doctor, was found unconscious and later died during treatment. The police have already arrested the primary suspect, Sanjay Roy, in connection with the case.
