The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to expand its investigation into the Kolkata Abhaya case today. On the previous day, the CBI raided 15 locations, including the home of Sandeep Ghosh, former chairman of RG Kar Medical College. Many important documents were seized during these raids.
The CBI has found significant evidence and reported having substantial information from the raids. They have filed a case against Ghosh for alleged financial misconduct at the medical college. The raids lasted 12 hours and included Ghosh’s house, his relatives’ home in Beleghat, Kolkata, and the residence of former medical superintendent Sanjay Bisht, along with the hospital management and supply company offices.
The CBI may carry out additional raids today. Sanjay Rayer, an accused in the assault and murder of a female doctor, underwent a polygraph test yesterday at Kolkata Presidency Jail. The results of this test, along with his statements to the CBI, are expected to be reviewed today.
