New CCTV footage has provided important clues in the Kolkata crime case involving Sanjay Roy. The footage from 9th August shows Roy entering the seminar hall on the fourth floor of the hospital’s chest department.
Investigations by the Kolkata Police and CBI reveal that on the night of the incident, six people went to the seminar hall. This group included the victim, Dr. Abhya, and accused Sanjay Roy, along with four others. After having dinner with the victim, four people left the seminar hall. A junior doctor and another individual went to the doctor’s sleep room, an intern went to the intern rest room on the third floor, and a house staff member went to the first floor.
Sanjay Roy returned to the seminar hall around 4 am and stayed for about 30-40 minutes before leaving. He was seen entering with headphones around his neck and a helmet in his hand. However, when he left, he no longer had the headphones. The headphones were later found on the victim, leading to Roy’s arrest.
The CCTV footage shows Roy entering the seminar hall, but footage of him leaving has not been released yet. His actions suggest he was searching for the victim.
The CBI has linked the fingerprints of two junior doctors, who were with the victim, to the seminar hall. The forensic report and family complaints have raised further suspicions. To continue their investigation, the CBI will conduct a polygraph test on four individuals involved in the case.
