The Center has requested a report on the incident involving the mixing of animal fat and fish oil in the Tirupati temple. Union Health Minister JP Nadda has directed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to provide a comprehensive report.
In response, Food Minister Prahlad Joshi has ordered a thorough investigation, emphasizing the seriousness of the Chief Minister’s complaint. He stated that a detailed inquiry is necessary and that authorities must take strict action against those responsible.
Recently, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh alleged that during the tenure of YSR Congress leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, low-quality oil mixed into the prasad laddus made in the Tirupati Balaji temple. He claimed that this practice continues today.
Following this, a private lab called NDDB CALF conducted tests on the quality of the laddus sold as prasad in the Tirupati Balaji temple. The tests revealed troubling findings: fish oil, beef fat, and pork fat mixed into the batter.
The ruling Telugu Desam Party shared the lab report on social media, causing panic among devotees. Today, the Union Health Minister has asked the state government for a detailed report on the matter.
