Chief Minister Majhi to Conduct Aerial Survey of Storm-Damaged Districts Today

Today, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will conduct an aerial assessment of the storm-affected districts starting at 11:35 AM. He will fly over the impacted areas for about two hours to evaluate storm damage. Later in the afternoon, he plans to meet with departmental officials at Lok Seva Bhawan.

Yesterday, the Chief Minister reviewed the situation at the Special Relief Commissioner’s office. He announced that residents in affected areas could remain in shelters for an additional seven days due to extensive waterlogging and home destruction.

Preliminary estimates indicate that the storm damaged crops across 175,000 acres in the state. Once the government gathers complete information, it will take steps to provide compensation.

Following the aerial survey, the Chief Minister will assess conditions on the ground. He also stated that electricity services should be fully restored by this afternoon.

District officials must report flood damage within seven days as part of a preliminary assessment. Revenue department officers will evaluate housing damage, while the Departments of Agriculture, Cooperatives, and Statistics will assess other types of damage. The government will expedite repairs for damaged homes and provide new houses to families whose homes have been destroyed. I’ve a house to a completely broken family.
