Chief Minister Mohan Majhi Conducts Aerial Survey of Cyclone-Affected Districts

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will conduct an aerial survey today over Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts, assessing the impact of Cyclone ‘Dana.’ He will also evaluate the conditions in Kendrapara district, specifically in Hawikhti, where the cyclone made landfall. After the survey, the Chief Minister will hold a review meeting at the SRC office.

Today at noon, the Chief Minister will embark on the aerial survey using a special helicopter, accompanied by the Revenue Minister and other officials.

Heavy rains following Cyclone ‘Dana’ caused the Bubhabalang River to overflow, leading to flooding in parts of Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts. Many villages remain underwater, and floodwaters have submerged hundreds of acres of agricultural land.

Following the assessment in Kendrapara, the Chief Minister will gather details on the damage caused by the storm. After returning, he will attend a review meeting at the SRC office.

Yesterday, the Chief Minister surveyed various areas in Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara districts impacted by the cyclone and held a press conference. All departments must submit damage reports by November 2. The Chief Minister has promised to provide government assistance to affected individuals and has assured that restoration of the power supply system will occur promptly.
