Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Tackles Rising Bomb Threats to Indian Aircraft

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has taken a strong stance against the rising bomb threats targeting Indian aircraft. He stated that officials are actively discussing amendments to current laws to prevent such crimes.

Naidu emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting that the surge in false bomb threats has sparked widespread panic. “We are working to classify these activities as ‘state crimes’,” he declared, adding that individuals caught making such threats will be immediately placed on a no-fly list.

In a recent press conference, Naidu shared that multiple meetings have taken place to tackle the issue. “We recognize the urgent need to amend regulations. Once the changes are in effect, we anticipate a significant reduction in these incidents. We will take strict action against the culprits, collaborating with other ministries to address this matter.”

He pointed out that these false threats disrupt many jobs nationwide and impose serious financial challenges on airlines. “Those committing these offenses will face service denial,” he asserted.

In the past week alone, over 100 Indian aircraft have received bomb threats, leading to emergency landings and enhanced security measures. This alarming trend has caused airlines to suffer substantial financial losses.
