Today, the state government is meeting with farmers as Chief Minister Mohan Majhi launches the CM Kisan Yojana during the Nua Khai festival. This new scheme will give farmers ₹4,000 in financial aid. The launch event will take place this afternoon in Sambalpur, where CM Majhi will officially start the scheme.
The CM Kisan Yojana will provide financial help to eligible farmers in two installments, before the Kharif and Rabi crop seasons. The state agriculture department has announced on social media that the government has allocated ₹19,035 crores for the scheme’s successful rollout.
The previous BJ government supported farmers with the Kalia Yojana. Recently, Agriculture Minister KV Singhdeo told the assembly that all farmers excluded from the PM Kisan Yojana will now be covered under the CM Kisan Yojana.
CM Majhi will visit Sambalpur for Nua Khai. He will attend the launch ceremony at Gangadhar Meher University’s auditorium and offer prayers at the Maa Samaleswari temple. He will also take part in various local events.
Security in Sambalpur has been heightened, and special arrangements are in place for the Chief Minister’s visit. The local community is eagerly preparing to welcome CM Majhi.
