Animal fat mixes with the laddu prepared as Prasad in the Tirupati temple, as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu recently alleged. Moreover, a lab report supports this claim, revealing that the Tirupati laddu contains palm oil, fish oil, and fats from beef and pork. Consequently, this incident has stirred controversy across the country, with many considering it an affront to the faith of millions of devotees.
The private lab report from NDDB CALF, which the ruling Telugu Desam Party shared on social media, raised serious concerns about the Prasad’s purity. In response to the allegations from the YSR Congress, Chief Minister Naidu vowed that no individuals involved in such irregularities would escape accountability. Furthermore, he asserted that strict action would follow.
Naidu stated, “The lab report I received clearly indicates that someone has defrauded the quality of Prasad. Additionally, we have proven the presence of impurities. From now on, we will use pure ghee in the Prasad, and we will investigate this matter thoroughly, weighing all aspects of the incident.”
He further condemned those who attempt to tarnish the Prasad of the God revered by countless devotees, promising that all individuals responsible for this serious matter will face severe punishment.
The lab collected samples on July 9, following the allegations regarding animal fat in the Tirupati temple laddu. Finally, the report was finalized on August 16.
Meanwhile, the YSR Congress reacted strongly, with party leader and Rajya Sabha MP YB Reddy calling the chief minister’s comments unfortunate. Reddy criticized Naidu for undermining the sanctity of the temple and accused him of prioritizing political gain over religious respect.
