Court Orders Investigation of Woman’s Cases Against 10 Men

The Karnataka High Court has instructed the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) to share details of a woman, who has filed several criminal cases against 10 men, with all police stations. Justice M. Nagaprasanna gave this order to prevent misuse of the legal process.

The woman has filed cases against 10 men between 2011 and 2022. One of the accused, PK Vivek, met her on August 28, 2022, at Hotel Lalit Mahal Palace in Mysore for a business deal. Shortly after, she filed two cases against him and his family. Vivek, a coffee plantation owner from Sakleshpur in Hassan district, told the court that the woman had filed similar cases against other men over the past 10 years.

The court noted that the woman often accused some men of being her husband and others of rape under false promises of marriage. Despite her claims, she did not attend hearings or provide evidence. Due to this, the High Court dismissed the case against Vivek and his family.

Justice Nagaprasanna also ordered that if the woman tries to file new cases, the police must investigate properly before taking action. The judge said this step is necessary to stop the misuse of the legal system. He stated that her complaints seemed to target people not involved with her.

According to a report, in 10 years, the woman has accused five men of rape, two of cruelty, and three of molestation and criminal intimidation.
