Cyclone ‘Fengal’ has crossed the Puducherry and Tamil Nadu coast, unleashing heavy rain and strong winds across the region yesterday. Amid the storm, a terrifying incident at Chennai Airport caught attention—a plane struggled to land due to fierce winds, with the dramatic video now going viral on social media.
The video shows an Indigo plane attempting to land on the runway, only to be pushed off course by powerful gusts. The pilot skillfully aborted the landing and took off again, ensuring the safety of hundreds of passengers. This manoeuvre, known as a “go-around,” is a standard safety measure when landing conditions are unsuitable.
IndiGo Airlines later clarified that the flight was en route from Mumbai to Chennai. The pilot faced strong winds and turbulent conditions during the landing attempt but executed the go-around successfully. After the weather improved, the plane landed safely. “Our pilots are highly trained to handle such challenges. The safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority,” IndiGo stated.
