The Bay of Bengal is bracing for another storm, named ‘Fengal.’ The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts the cyclone will make landfall by the end of this week.
According to IMD reports, Cyclone Fengal has formed a deep depression in the southwest Bay of Bengal and is moving north-northwest at a speed of 12 km per hour. The storm is currently located 770 km south-southeast of Chennai and continues to move toward the north-northwest. The storm is expected to intensify by November 27.
The cyclone is likely to make landfall on November 29, impacting the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. In response, the IMD has issued warnings for residents in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, advising them to stay alert. Additionally, the department has cautioned fishermen against venturing into the sea.
