Police busted a large-scale drug racket in Delhi, seizing 95 kg of drugs. Investigators revealed that the Tihar Jail warden operated the drug lab.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Tihar Jail warden ran a meth lab in Gautam Budh, Noida, producing methamphetamine in collaboration with a Mumbai-based chemist.
A Delhi businessman was also part of the operation. On October 25, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided the lab, seized 95 kg of methamphetamine, and arrested four individuals.
Among those arrested was the Delhi businessman, who was previously questioned by the Income Tax Department over drug dealings. During questioning, he claimed the Tihar Jail warden was instrumental in operating the drug lab, assisting with the procurement of chemicals and equipment needed for production.
Another accused confirmed the involvement of the Mumbai chemist in the operation. Following their court appearance on October 27, police remanded all four suspects. Additionally, authorities detained an associate of the businessman. The NCB and Delhi Police conducted this operation jointly.
