Today, devotees celebrate Mahashasti Puja, honoring Jagat Janani Maa Durga. Worshippers are performing rituals for Durgatinashini in mandaps across the state. People eagerly welcome the world-giving mother Durga, filling the air with excitement and devotion. In the peethas, devotees are performing Shashti Puja, while Mahashasti Puja takes place in the mandaps, spreading an atmosphere of spirituality and passion.
After the rituals, devotees will invite and worship Maa Durga in the mandaps. Puja Mandaps across Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and other locations have made extensive arrangements for the celebrations. They have adorned Maa Durga’s idol with silver and gold.
In Bhubaneswar, organizers have prepared major puja mandaps on a grand scale. Worshippers are honoring Maa Durga in hundreds of mandaps, including those at Nayapalli, Shahidnagar, Jharpada, Rasulgarh, Baramunda, and Station Bazar. Similarly, people are celebrating Durga Puja with great enthusiasm in Brahmapur, Rourkela, and Balasore.
