In a sharp statement, Dr. Biswaranjan Mohanty took aim at Odisha’s Chief Minister, labeling him a “Teleprompter Chief Minister” and questioning his recent comments on the Kashmir issue. Dr. Mohanty accused the CM of taking orders from Delhi and diverting public attention from pressing state issues, particularly the Congress Party’s push for reservation and caste census in the Vidhan Sabha.
Dr. Mohanty highlighted what he described as contradictions in the CM’s stance, pointing out the historical alliances between the Chief Minister’s party and the National Conference during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure, as well as the BJP’s ties with the PDP. He also referenced past diplomatic efforts, such as the friendship bus to Pakistan and the Kargil conflict, questioning the Chief Minister’s authority to comment on national matters.
“Instead of public posturing on issues like Kashmir, the Odisha CM should focus on emergent issues of the State,” Dr. Mohanty asserted, urging the Chief Minister to prioritize state concerns over national discourse.
