The BJP has scored a hat-trick in Haryana by winning the assembly elections for the third consecutive time. Following this victory, the party has begun preparations to form a new government.
According to party sources, the Chief Minister of Haryana will take the oath of office in ten days. The oath-taking program for ministers will occur simultaneously with this event. Before this, the BJP will hold a party meeting to elect the MLA party leader. The party high command has already approved Nayab Singh Saini as the next Chief Minister, but the official process for electing the MLA party leader will follow.
Meanwhile, a race has commenced for cabinet positions in the new government. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s residence in Delhi has filled with leaders eager to discuss their roles. BJP election in-charge Central Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and co-in-charge Viplad Dev Manohar Lal have strategized during these discussions about ministerial appointments and other relevant issues.
The new government may appoint two deputy chief ministers alongside the Chief Minister. Former Home Secretary Anil Bij and an MLA from the Brahmin community are strong candidates for deputy chief minister based on seniority. The BJP high command seeks to honor senior leaders like Anil Bij, who has often expressed his desire to become Chief Minister. To accommodate him, the BJP might appoint him as Deputy Chief Minister.
