The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken significant action in a major financial fraud case in Assam, involving the embezzlement of funds allocated for the welfare of construction workers. Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the ED conducted raids and seized assets worth more than ₹34 crore, including bank and fixed deposits. This action is part of the ongoing investigation into the misappropriation of government funds intended for worker welfare in the state.
