Extremists Kill Two Migrant Workers in Manipur’s Kakching District

Violence erupted again in Manipur as extremists carried out a brutal attack, killing two migrant workers in Kakching district. The assailants, who are yet to be identified, shot the workers while they were returning home from their construction job. The incident has caused widespread panic in the region.

The attack took place on Saturday evening around 5:20 PM when the two laborers were cycling back to their rented house from a construction site in Keirak. The militants opened fire near the Panchayat office, leaving both workers in shock.

Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and rushed the victims to the hospital, but doctors declared them dead. The deceased, identified as 18-year-old Sunalal Kumar and 17-year-old Dashrath Kumar, were residents of Rajwahi village in Gopalganj district, Bihar.

The police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the attackers, although the motive behind the killings remains unclear. This attack marks another chapter in the ongoing violence that has plagued Manipur for the past 19 months, claiming hundreds of lives and forcing thousands of families into relief camps. Despite efforts to calm the situation, the violence continues to escalate in the region.
