Delhi politics has seen a major shift. During the MLA party meeting, majority voted to appoint Atishi as the new Chief Minister. With Arvind Kejriwal resigning, Atishi will step into the role. The pressing question now is how long Atishi will hold the position.
AAP leader Gopal Rai addressed this concern, confirming that Atishi will serve as Chief Minister until the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi. The party plans to demand the formation of a new government today. Arvind Kejriwal will resign at 4:30 pm, and Atishi will take the oath of office during a special Legislative Assembly session on September 26-27.
The Delhi Cabinet will decide on the next steps in the coming days. Gopal Rai stated, “We want elections to take place in October-November.” He also criticized the BJP and the central government, claiming that there was a conspiracy to remove AAP from Delhi. Rai accused the BJP of trying to topple the government from the start and predicted further failures for their attempts.
