Sunanda Das, the former leader of Bari, who recently bid farewell to BJD, joined the BJP today. He made the switch with his supporters at the BJP state office, where he was welcomed by state president Manmohan Samal and presented with the Padma award.
Sunanda served as the BJD MLA from Bari from 2019 to 2024, but the party did not offer him a ticket for the upcoming elections. Due to allegations of being sidelined, Sunanda left the BJD on the 29th, and rumours spread that he would soon join the BJP. Today, this determined leader from Bari officially joined the BJP.
After leaving the BJD, Sunanda sparked a flurry of rumours about the party’s leadership. While ticket distribution was taking place within BJD, he openly claimed that Bobby Das was responsible for cutting his ticket. Despite not securing the ticket himself, Sunanda expressed happiness with the election results and thanked Jagannath.
