Former BJD Leader Sunanda Das Claims Ignorance Led to Ticket Revocation

As discussions about officer ticket distribution intensify within the BJD, former Bari Dudayika Sunanda Das has made strong accusations. Speaking from the Naveen Patnaik and Pandian residence, Sunanda asserted that only Bobby’s regime operates in Jajpur. Following her departure from the party, she addressed the media with explosive statements.

Sunanda expressed, “I have significantly contributed to the party over the past five years, strengthening its position. Yet, they ultimately cut my ticket. It has been five months since I participated in any party program. I felt ignored, which compelled me to leave the team.” Today marks one year since Sunanda parted ways with the BJD.

She further revealed that officer ticket distribution within the BJD remains a contentious issue. Sunanda accused Bobby Das of promising annual tickets but revoking them at the last moment. “I accept what Lord Jagannath has decided and thank him,” she stated.

Sunanda disclosed that party members directed her to meet two officials, DS Kutte and Ashish Singh, for tickets. She recalled visiting them months before ticket distribution, where they assured her that tickets would be available. However, on the night before distribution, she received a call informing her that her ticket had been revoked. “When I checked the next morning, my name was absent from the list,” Sunanda lamented.

She also claimed that Bobby Das, the then-BJD organizational editor, wielded significant influence over ticket distribution. Bobby allegedly stated, “I am the ticket giver and the ticket taker. As Ashok Das’s son, I will not stab him in the back.” Sunanda placed her trust in him for her ticket, only to see it cancelled unexpectedly.

She recounted, “After securing my ticket, I went to see Naveen Bhashani when he called. He informed me that my ticket was cut due to my lack of involvement in Jajpur affairs, and then he reassigned me to Kantabanji. The party suffered from arbitrary rules and sudden ticket cancellations.”

Sunanda pointed out that BJP’s Biswaranjan Malli, who contested against her in Bari, gained entry into the party and received priority. “During my tenure as director, he participated in all the projects. The organizational editor orchestrated this, causing me considerable mental anguish before finally cancelling my ticket,” she said, adding that she is grateful for the outcome decided by Lord Jagannath.

When asked about her future party affiliation, Sunanda stated she would decide in the coming days.
