Four members of a family sustained serious injuries during a violent clash between two groups over a money collection dispute in Chandibast village, under the jurisdiction of Niagara Town police station. The injured are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
The conflict erupted yesterday while donations were being collected to construct a Shani temple in the village. Tensions arose between the two central groups over the donation, which quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. One group attacked the other, injuring four individuals severely.
Initially, medical personnel admitted the injured to Niagara Community Health Centre but later transferred them to Bhubaneswar for further treatment. Reports indicate that political enmity between these groups has been simmering for a long time. The Town police station has launched an investigation into the incident.
