The famous Gajalakshmi Puja begins today as devotees bring the Jagatjanani Maa Durga Melani from Dharapa. Celebrations are vibrant, with Mother’s Pujas taking place in every corner of the state.
In Dhenkanal, artisans have decorated the immortal statue of the mother in various mandaps, and the Toran work is now in its final stages. Organizers have made special and grand arrangements for the Gajalakshmi Puja at multiple locations. Markets such as Meenabazar, Ganesh Bazar, Lakshmi Bazar, Keivalya Bazar, and Gudiya Nali are bustling with activity. The Gajalakshmi Puja will continue for 11 days, with worship occurring in 38 puja mandaps throughout Dhenkanal.
In the Tussi area of Kendrapada, organizers have also prepared for the Gajalakshmi Puja, which will take place over seven days. Gajalakshmi will be worshiped at 68 locations in Kendrapada city.
