On March 7, the government announced an extension of the subsidy for LPG cylinders under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) until March 31, 2025, maintaining the subsidy at Rs 300 per cylinder.
This extension aims to continue supporting beneficiaries of the program in accessing affordable cooking fuel. Notably, in October, the government had increased the subsidy amount from Rs 200 to Rs 300 per LPG cylinder, reflecting its commitment to facilitating access to clean cooking fuel for households across the country.
