Governor Refuses to Share Platform with Mamata

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed outrage over the violence and killings at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. She announced her willingness to resign as Chief Minister, which has escalated tensions. In response, Governor CV Anand Bose has publicly distanced himself from her.

Governor Bose said he will not attend any meetings with Mamata Banerjee. In a video message, he referred to her as “Lady Macbeth” and condemned the ongoing violence in the state. He said he stands with the constitution, the victims’ families, and all those seeking justice.

Shortly after Banerjee’s resignation offer, Bose’s video surfaced on social media. In it, he criticized the law and order situation and the poor state of medical services. He noted that Banerjee, who also holds the portfolios of Law and Health, has failed to restore order.

The Governor also expressed concern over serious criminal charges against the Commissioner of Police. Bose said he would limit his role to constitutional duties.

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee scheduled a meeting with junior doctors at Nabanna. However, despite waiting for two hours, no doctors attended. Upset with their absence, Banerjee told the media that she is ready to resign if it serves the people. She emphasized that she wants justice for the victims and better healthcare for the public.

The protests led by junior doctors are still ongoing in front of the health building. The doctors have vowed to continue their agitation until the victims receive justice.
