Haryana Election Crackdown: Police Confiscate ₹2.84 Crore from Multiple Locations

Haryana will hold elections for all 90 assembly seats on the 5th. Ahead of this, the electoral code of conduct is already in place, and police have intensified raids across the state. Yesterday, authorities seized ₹2 crore 84 lakh 65 thousand in three separate operations.

As the Haryana elections approach, the Election Commissioner has directed strict action against illegal cash, drugs, and liquor trafficking. In response, police have ramped up search operations and seized significant amounts of money.

According to a Faridabad Police official, the raid occurred in the Sar Khaiwaja and Surajkund police station areas, near the Delhi-Faridabad border. Officers from the Economic Crime Branch also assisted in the operation. All the cash was seized from three different locations.

During the search, police confiscated ₹2 crore 51 lakh 65 thousand from one area, ₹20 lakh from another, and ₹13 lakh from Surajkund Road.

When questioned, the individuals transporting the cash failed to provide satisfactory explanations. As a result, the police confiscated the money and handed it over to the Income Tax Department.
