The deep depression over West Central and Northwest Bay of Bengal will weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area by this evening. It is moving northwest at 15 km per hour and heading toward Chhattisgarh. As a result, heavy rain may hit some districts of the state. The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre shared this update.
The weather center reports that low pressure is causing continued rainfall in the state. Authorities issued a red warning for 10 districts by 8:30 am today and an orange warning for 3 districts by 8:30 am tomorrow. The districts facing the red warning are Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Balangir, Boudh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Puri.
Likewise, Bargarh, Nuapada, and Jharsuguda districts are under the orange warning. The weather center has placed Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh districts under a yellow warning, with rainfall expected between 7 to 11 cm. The state will continue to see rain until the 11th. Fishermen must stay off the sea due to rough conditions.
