The dispute over Tirupati Ladu continues to escalate. After devotees raised concerns about animal fat and fish oil mixed into the sweet, dissatisfaction spreads across the country. Now, serious new allegations have surfaced: devotees claim that tobacco is mixed into the laddu distributed as prasad.
Padmavati, a devotee from Khammam district in Telangana, reported these allegations after visiting the Tirupati Tirumala temple on September 19. She brought the holy laddu home to share with her family and neighbors. However, when she opened the box at home, she found a piece of tobacco wrapped in paper. Padmavati expressed her outrage, and her video of the incident has gone viral.
She stated, “When I received the laddu as prasad, I was horrified to find a piece of tobacco wrapped in paper. Prasad should be holy; it is heartbreaking to discover such contaminants.”
In response to the controversy, the Ministry of Camp Affairs has addressed the issue surrounding Tirumala Tirupati Ladu. Officials have sent samples to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for analysis. Departmental secretary Nidhi Khade confirmed that they will take necessary action once they receive the report.
