Speeding led to a devastating calamity in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, this morning. Racing with BMW cars proved to be costly for the passengers of an Innova, as the vehicle collided with a truck. The crash was so severe that it completely crushed the Innova, killing six people—three young men and three young women. A young man sustained serious injuries in the accident.
The victims, all under 25 years old, were reportedly students. Five of them were from Dehradun. They had gone on a long drive the previous night when the accident occurred.
Police officials confirmed that CCTV footage revealed the Innova car racing with a BMW at speeds of approximately 120 km/h just before the collision. The Innova car was only 600 meters away from the accident site and reached the spot in just 13 seconds.
