Jam Saheb Shatrushalya Singh Maharaj of Jamnagar announced his succession on Saturday morning, choosing former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja as the next Jam Saheb of Nawanagar.
At the announcement, Shatrushalya Singhji expressed his happiness, stating, “I am pleased that Ajay Jadeja will take on the role of Jam Saheb of Nawanagar. He has accepted my offer, and I believe this will be a blessing for the people of Jamnagar.”
Ajay Jadeja, who hails from Jamnagar, has strong ties to the Nawanagar royal family and shares a close relationship with Jam Saheb Shatrushalya Singhji. Many had anticipated his selection as the new Jam Saheb.
Since Jam Saheb Shatrushalya Singhji does not have children, he needed to choose a successor, and he chose Jadeja for this honor. Shatrushalya Singhji’s father, Dhakvijay Singh, served as Jam Saheb for 33 years, and his grandfather, Ranjit Singhji, adopted him as his heir.
