The judicial investigation into the Bharatpur police station case has commenced, with authorities set to publish a notification today inviting witnesses to come forward. Following a meeting yesterday, the inquiry commission’s secretary announced that they will accept statements for the next 21 days. They encourage anyone with knowledge of the incident to share their testimonies, which will undergo verification before the investigation proceeds.
The commission will interrogate the suspended police officers, including IIC Dinkrishna Mishra, regarding the incident. They will also summon other involved parties to appear before the commission. After completing the investigation, they will submit a comprehensive report to the government.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has ordered a judicial inquiry into the alleged rape of an army officer and his subordinate at the Bharatpur police station. Five police officers, including Mishra, have faced suspension and traveled to Gandhinagar, Gujarat, since last Sunday for a lie detection test. The crime branch actively investigates the case.
