Following his visit to Keonjhar regarding the Bharatpur police station incident, Chief Minister Mohan Charan convened a high-level meeting at Majhi Lok Sabha Bhavan and ordered a judicial inquiry. Hon’ble Judge Justice Chittaranjan Das will oversee the inquiry, with a report expected within 60 days.
Additionally, the Chief Minister has requested the Hon’ble High Court to expedite the criminal investigation under its direct supervision.
The meeting included Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo and Panagi Parida, along with Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Law, Purity and Unemployment Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Advocate General Thatambar Acharya, Chief Administrative Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Administrative Secretary Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Additional Home Secretary Chief Secretary Satyabrat Sahu, and Director General of Police YV Khurania.
Earlier, on Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s instructions, an army officer and his female friend met with Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo and Panagi Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, and Law, Labor and Employment Minister Prithviraj Harichandan at Rajya Guest House, where the woman’s father and other senior army officers were also present.
