Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris said today that if she wins the election, the first thing she will do is to implement strict security measures on the border and improve the immigration system. She vowed that she will improve it. She has been constantly targeting Donald Trump on this issue.
Harris’ statement came during her visit to the US-Mexico border in Arizona. She had reached here for the first time during her election campaign. Along with expressing a tough stand on border security, Harris said that she also supports the path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants currently in the US.
She said that after winning, as president, I will work closely with Congress to prepare a path to citizenship for hardworking immigrants living here for years. Criticizing Trump, she said that politicians have refused to come together on this issue and fix the immigration system.
As a president, I will put politics aside to fix the immigration system and find solutions to those problems. He also called for more punitive measures against those who cross the border illegally.
