Supporters of former cabinet minister Kavita Jain expressed their anger after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) denied her a ticket for the upcoming Haryana elections. Addressing her supporters during a meeting on Wednesday, Jain broke down in tears while speaking. At the meeting, supporters raised slogans against former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and BJP candidate Nikhil Madan. In protest, 28 key members, including councilor Indu Valecha and her husband Sanjeev Valecha, resigned from their posts. Party members expressed their displeasure through videos circulated on WhatsApp, criticizing the BJP’s decision.
Discontent grew as supporters gathered at Jain’s residence in Sector-15, Sonepat. Among those who resigned were Maharaja Agrasen Mandal Kisan Morcha President Ashok and Mandal General Secretary Rajat Jain. Resignations continued through the night as several other office bearers, including Anand Kumar, Mukesh Batra, and Manoj Dhania, also stepped down.
Meanwhile, the BJP announced its candidate list for Haryana. Nikhil Madan will contest from Sonepat, while other candidates include Vipul Goyal from Faridabad, Mukesh Sharma from Gurgaon, and Captain Abhimanyu from Narnaul.
