Lord Sribalbhadra and Srijagannath Adorned as Radha Damodar

Kartika Niti unfolds at the temple, where Srijiu offers darshan to devotees as Radha Damodara. This occurs after the daily leisure policy. Meanwhile, Lord Sribalbhadra and Srijagannath don the attire of Radha Damodar, showcasing a vibrant golden blue triangle on their upper arms. Additionally, a hearth made from bamboo mats and reeds rests atop the trimundi shrimastak, with the moon prominently displayed at the front.

As the scene unfolds, devotees see gold ornaments adorning their ears with kundalas, their waists with odyanis, and their heads with tadgis, accompanied by motifs of the moon, sun, and cheetah. Moreover, the Srivigrahas gleam with various Pushka ornaments, Barlagi pat sarees, futas, shirakpadas, pahrans, rilas, and northern garments.

In the midst of this, pilgrims and devotees swarm the temple, eager to catch a glimpse of the divine. Simultaneously, many women prepare to commence their Kartika Vrat. The atmosphere buzzes with excitement as a large crowd gathers to witness this awe-inspiring spectacle.

Although Kartik month officially starts the day after Kumar Purnima, Kartik Nitikanti kicks off at the temple the day before. Following Srimandi tradition, the Kartik month principle runs from Ashwin Shukla 11th to Kartik Purnima. During this month, alongside daily rituals, the temple celebrates special events such as Radha Damodar Besh, Panchuk Besh, Baldhup, and Diba Pahud for the Sri Vigrahas. Ultimately, the auspicious Radha Damodar Besham for the Srivigrahas on the Ratna Throne unfolds from the 11th of Ashwin Shukla to the 10th of Kartika Shukla.
