The temple of Aradhya Devi Maa Taratareni in Ganjam district has been stolen. Late last night, robbers broke into Maa’s temple. They have stolen goods worth lakhs and have gone back. Purkuttampur police reached the spot and started an investigation.
It is evident from the surrounding situation that miscreants broke the grill of the temple and entered inside last night. Then they looted Mother’s silver crown, umbrella, and other things from outside the hut. They are said to have made off with jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.
On receiving the news, the Purkuttampur police station arrived this morning and started the investigation. However, how the looters stole the artworks in Ma’s temple has raised questions. After this news spread, there was discontent among the devotees.
The head worshiper of the temple said that last night some miscreants broke the lock of the main door and broke the lock of the womb room. Later they stole a lot of jewellery including a silver face, and an umbrella. There is no CCTV system in the temple. He said that such an incident happened because the trust did not pay attention to the security system of the temple.
