The Subhadra Yojana has already benefited 25 lakh women, who have received the first installment of funds. In just a few days, another 25 lakh women will receive their initial payments. Ultimately, the program aims to support a total of one crore women over time. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced this during a BJP membership campaign in Bhubaneswar today.
Deputy Chief Minister Panchi Parida reported that 92 lakh women have applied for the scheme so far, and officials expect one crore applications within weeks. “All eligible women will receive guaranteed funds, regardless of their position in the process. Everyone just needs a bit of patience as E-KYC verification takes time,” he explained. The government has already disbursed the first installment to 25 lakh and 11 thousand women, and all beneficiaries will receive their first payments by next March 8. The second installment will be distributed simultaneously to all one crore beneficiaries on Women’s Day, March 8.
It’s important to note that the Subhadra Yojana launched in the state on the 17th, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating the program during an event in Bhubaneswar. Under this initiative, the government will provide Rs 10,000 to each eligible woman in two installments annually, totaling Rs 50,000 over five years.
