A tragic incident unfolded in Malkangiri district as Naxals carried out a brutal attack, killing a 16-year-old student, Oyam Shankar. The victim, a 10th-grade student, was targeted by the Naxals on suspicion of being a police informer.
According to reports, the Naxals had been monitoring Shankar for some time before summoning him yesterday afternoon. Upon his arrival, they assaulted him, leading to his death. The family discovered Shankar’s body this morning near Dbapara and Purvi villages in Sukuma district. Preliminary examinations suggest he died from multiple injuries inflicted during the assault.
