A terrible accident unfolded during a fireworks display at the Anjuthambalam Virakavu temple near Nileshwar in Kasaragod district, Kerala, injuring over 150 people. Devotees flocked to the temple for the annual Kaliyattam festival when a firework fell behind the storage house containing arrows, igniting a blaze that quickly spread.
The incident occurred late Monday night, leaving more than 150 individuals injured, with eight in critical condition. Medical teams rushed the injured to hospitals in Kasaragod, Kannur, and Mangalore.
In response to the situation, senior officials, including the district governor and the police chief, arrived at the scene and ordered immediate relief measures for those affected. Meanwhile, the Kerala Police registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the incident.
