An overhead electric wire snapped on the Byguda-Kakerigumma railway track this morning, disrupting train movement. As a result, the Rourkela Intercity, scheduled to pass through that route, halted at Lakshmipur.
After two hours of repairs by the railway department staff and technical team, train services resumed. The Rourkela Intercity reached its destination two hours late, while the Hirkhand Express B also arrived two hours behind schedule. Additionally, the Sameleshwari and DMU trains left Koraput 1.5 hours late.
Passengers faced various challenges due to the disruption, but the prompt response from the railway team restored normal operations.
