Priyanka Gandhi’s Campaign Disrupted in Jammu and Kashmir as Helicopter Fails to Land

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi traveled to Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir for an election campaign, but her helicopter could not land due to alleged non-cooperation from the administration. The Congress party claimed that officials obstructed her campaign by failing to assist in landing the helicopter in the Billawar assembly constituency.

Priyanka had planned to hold rallies in Billawar and Bishnah constituencies, but the landing issue prevented her from campaigning for the party’s candidate, former minister Dr. Manohar Lal. Meanwhile, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi also faced difficulties when his helicopter experienced a technical glitch on Friday.

Ravindra Sharma, spokesperson for the Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee (JKPCC), demanded clarification from the administration regarding the incident. He called for the Election Commission to investigate the disruption of Priyanka Gandhi’s rally in Billawar.

At a rally in Bishnah, Priyanka Gandhi criticized the BJP, stating that the party has plunged the region into crisis over the past decade. She promised to restore dignity and respect to Kashmir, vowing to bring back statehood and revive the 150-year-old ‘Darbar Move’ tradition.

Priyanka accused the BJP of using Jammu and Kashmir as a political tool for its own benefit, claiming the government has stripped the people of their rights to status, land, and jobs. She also targeted Viceroy Manoj Sinha, describing his rule as dictatorial and accusing him of exploiting the region without accountability while favoring large corporate interests. She emphasized that people from outside are taking advantage of local resources, leaving youth struggling to make a living.
