Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments during his US tour have sparked controversy in India. The BJP has strongly criticized his remarks on Sikhs and reservations. They are also concerned about his meeting with an American MP known for anti-India views.
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi accused Rahul of spreading “anti-India venom.” He said the situation is serious and that the country should reflect on it. Trivedi also noted that pro-Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu praised Gandhi, further damaging his image. According to him, figures from Pakistan, Pannu, and American Congresswoman Ilhan Omar have all supported Gandhi’s stance.
Rahul Gandhi had earlier stated that India must allow Sikhs to wear the Kada and turban freely and visit Gurudwaras without restrictions. The BJP responded with a strong attack, recalling the 1984 Sikh riots in their criticism of Gandhi.
Trivedi further accused Gandhi of being the first opposition leader in India to harm the country by meeting openly anti-India politicians. He specifically pointed to Ilhan Omar, who has made many anti-India statements and was once taken on a controversial visit to PoK by Pakistan.
The BJP has used these developments to accuse Rahul Gandhi of damaging national interests during his international tour.
