Ratan Tata came to Odisha for the Gopalpur Steel Project in 1995. The project was laid by former Prime Minister P.V. Narsingh Rao. In 2018, he was directly involved with the Ganjam Jaga Mission project.
In the field of providing housing to the slum dwellers in Odisha, the ‘Jaga Mission’ project was started as a joint venture between Tata and Odisha Government. Which was then recognized as the world’s largest project for slum dwellers.
