During his visit to Sambalpur today, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari announced plans to amend the RERA Act. He highlighted the challenges individuals, particularly women, face when trying to sell land due to existing legal constraints. “We must reform the law to empower landowners,” he stated.
Minister Pujari confirmed that his department will collaborate with the Urban Development Department to discuss necessary amendments. “We have invited the Urban Development Department to discuss how we can improve the law,” he added. He also mentioned that registrars will evaluate whether both buyers and sellers are satisfied with transactions, allowing them to file complaints if needed.
Additionally, the minister confirmed a new process to identify brokers. “We will use CCTV to track those who frequently visit the office without legitimate business, and we will display their photos outside the office to raise awareness,” he stated.
