State Warns of Strict Action Over Subhadra Scheme Bribery

The state government has taken a strong stance after learning that some people are demanding money from applicants for uploading forms online for the ‘Subhadra’ scheme. Authorities have warned that they will take strict action against anyone asking for money for Subhadra form submissions. The government has also urged the public to report such incidents to the police. So far, over 15 lakh forms have been registered for the scheme.

The application process for the ‘Subhadra’ scheme, aimed at benefiting women, is still underway. There is high enthusiasm among people in villages to participate in the scheme. However, the government has received complaints that Anganwadi workers, public service centers, and Mo Seva Kendras are charging ₹50 to ₹2000 for uploading forms. The Women and Child Development Department has responded by promising strict action against anyone involved in these illegal practices.

As a result of these complaints, the public service center in Derabish, Kendrapara district, was temporarily closed. Similarly, the Cuttack Metropolitan Corporation took swift action against the ‘Mo Seva’ center in Ashtgarh, Cuttack district, based on calls received on the Subhadra helpline.

The department has clarified that the entire process of scanning and uploading Subhadra forms costs ₹15 per form, including GST. This amount is paid to public service centers and Mo Seva Kendras handling the application process. Applicants do not need to pay any additional fees, and the public has been advised to report any illegal demands to the police immediately.
