On September 15, stone-pelters targeted the newly inaugurated Bande Bharat train, which was still undergoing trial runs. The train, traveling from Jamshedpur Tata to Gaya via Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Junction at Gomo, was attacked between Phantaa and Tonkuppa stations in Bihar.
The stone-pelting shattered the train’s glass in several spots. Railway officials promptly arrived to inspect the damage. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has filed a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits. The RPF has committed to taking strict action against those responsible.
This attack follows a similar incident in Bhilwada, Rajasthan, last October. Thankfully, no passengers sustained injuries in this recent attack.
