Survey reveals, 45% of Indians choose Indian products over Chinese products

Anti-China sentiment is growing among the people of India. 45 percent of Indians have not purchased Chinese goods in the last 12 months. Additionally, a survey found that nearly 64 percent of Indians have discarded the use of Chinese apps on their phones for e-commerce, gaming, photo editing, and social networking.

According to a recent survey by Local Circles, 45 percent of Indians have not purchased Chinese goods in the last 12 months. But still 55 percentage of people said that they are using goods made in China. Out of total 7022 people, 56 percent bought smartphones, smart watches, power banks, other electronic goods, mobile accessories and 49 percent bought festival lighting, lamps, candles, water guns.

Similarly, 33 percent bought toys and stationery, 29 percent gift items, 26 percent electronics and appliances (television, air purifiers, kettles), 26 percent household items like lighting and furniture, and 15 percent people said they bought fashion items like clothes, bags, and accessories.

Similarly, 63 percent of the 12,350 people said that they buy more Made in India products due to India-China geopolitical developments. 16 percent said that the price and quality of Indian goods is good, while 13 percent said that some other non-Indian goods are available as an alternative to non-Chinese goods.

Similarly, 7 percent said that Chinese goods are not available online or in stores. It is worth noting that India banned more than 100 Chinese websites due to economic crimes related to illegal investment. Along with this, around 250 apps were also blocked in view of India’s sovereignty, integrity, defense and security. The Indian government’s intention to emphasize Make-in-India was behind the warning issued to the Chinese apps.
