Yesterday, one of the year’s most anticipated movies, Ashram, premiered. Sponsored by Tapan Kumar Das, the film features Mahashweta Ray, Abhishek Giri, Suryamayi, Navagata Soumya, Tanushree, Shweta Acharya, Shankar, Prashant Pan, and Tushar Acharya in the lead roles. Film lovers had hoped for a hat-trick with actress Bhoomika, who starred in Das’s previous two films, Chatshubandhan and Mayabi.
In Chatshubandhan, directed by Rajendra Mahant, Bhoomika acted opposite Raj Rajesh. In Mayabi, directed by Sudshanshu Mohan Sahu, she appeared alongside Amlan. However, in Ashram, the role was not offered to her.
Cinephiles are curious about the reason for this change. In response, sponsor Tapan Kumar Das explained, “Bhoomika is a talented and cooperative actress. I cast her in my previous two films, but for Ashram, we chose Suryamayi because she seemed a better fit for the teenage role opposite Mahasweta madam.
